I am in discovery phase of possibly purchasing a XK140. I love the look of the hidden top. Can anyone describe its operation? Maybe even provide a link to photos? Thanks!!

 

The top is hidden all right, in a bag in the trunk or behind the seats ! You have to assemble it from the various bits and pieces. Only the Drop-Head Coupe has a proper lower/raise mechanism, (manual of course, this is the 50s !)

so if you want convenience of operation, buy the drop-head.
