A good prompt! I know you don't need the answer but many members do.


It's not just this Prize Draw but for the forum generally.

We don't ask much in the way of personal details from members but two things are very important:

1. Location
2. Model and Year

Location
Apart from the obvious LHD or RHD, the specification of Jaguars varies for different markets. For example, a recent thread discussed the Pedestrian Protection System on later models. This is proving to be a very costly problem in Europe but it's not even fitted to vehicles in the USA.

Model and Year
There's huge differences between an early 1996 4.0 litre XK8 and a 2006 XK8 4.2 litre. Relevant information and replies can only be given if members can see the precise model details.

Prize Draw
Specifically Rule 5 is here because we have to check every entry to ensure the member owns a qualifying vehicle. If this information is in the post or (ideally) permanently in the Signature, it only takes a glance. If we have to start digging through individual profiles, it takes several minutes for each one.
