Wanted to pass this along if anyone's looking (listing isn't mine). Black/tan. Has 54k. Asking is 8.0, he'll take 7.0 Starts up fine, good power, drives well. Jagbits engine 2.5k ago (shop botched an oil change). Rear fender dent (paint still good). PM if you have any questions.

 

XK8 or R ?

 

XK8. The used 03 replacement engine w/ no history (2.5k miles in 3 years since installed) and expired warranty doesn't have much appeal. Unknown mileage, no maintenance history. I listened (very slight valve train noise on start up which disappeared), looked for leaks and did OBD/cell to get temp and voltage. I offered 6k based on my pulling codes, getting a compression test (check plugs) and measuring oil pressure. Too many current repairs and possible problems for 7k. I'm going to take some time and look for a well maintained reasonable mileage 03-04. Upside is I did get to test drive (no owner) on a fast winding hilly 2 lane w/ new pavement. Handles a lot better than I expected. Look forward to driving an R one of these days!
