Default 1997 to 2005 Front bumper Conversion?

Hi guys,
I'm in the process of doing a mild retoration on my 97 xk8. I already have the cooler looking 05 bumper sitting here, but I was wondering if I'm missing anything BEFORE I swap them. I know the fogs are different and I'll be intalling a mesh grill. But what about the undertray? How different are they?? Anything else I should look into?

They are totally different.......you will also require new wheel arch liners or filler panels you will also need to pack up the front to meet the new bumper by about 5/8 (16mm) approx, you can use washers but I prefer to turn up a piece of stianless steel or aluminium

Under tray part no. C2N2744
Wheel arch liners C2N2846 and 47 I am assuming the UK part no.s are the same as the US

Good luck

I was looking at the wheel liners on a pdf, it says that 2001-2006 are the same? It shouldn't be to hard to fill in though. But what do you mean by packing up? Do you mean extending the wheel liners, because the bumper is larger?

The undertray part number is 01-05c 2N002744. This is for all 2001-2005 model years. These years had different bumpers, so it cant be too hard to modify

Wheel liner Assenbly also seem to be the same for all model years (97-06). I am going by the parts pdf in the FAQ section of this forum.

Part numbers L/F R/LC 2N002846'

You will not be able to modify your old undertray to fit as it is simply too narrow, you have to account for the extra width in the new bumper as it sits lower than the original, trust me on this I have done this conversion over 50 times.
The shape of the top panel the bumper bolts to changed in 2001 and the new bumper will only reach in the outer corners, the other 4 bolt holes will require packing to bolt down onto.

Jaguar only now supply the later wheel arch liners and if you have an earlier car you have to trim them down, this is great if you are doing an 05 conversion but means your existing liners will not reach the lower edge of the bumper.
