Default 1997xk8

my question is, why do my side windows stop working properly, when it gets colder. i always stored it winters (i live in michigan), because of this problem. i dont want to ruin the window trim, cuz im sure they are expensive. is this an inherent problem with xk8s, or is it something like weak battery? any help will be great. thanx

One of the first signs of a weak battery.

The OE batteries from Jaguar do.

Many US forum members go with Interstate or Autozone replacements at around half the cost.

Apart from selecting the correct rating and physical size, any alternative battery must have the same vent outlet on the side as the original to connect to the vent pipe (circled in red):

This right angle vent connects to a pipe which passes through the floor or the luggage compartment to vent any fumes to the outside.

New batteries come with the vent hole plugged and the original right angle fitting from the Jaguar battery can be reused.

The new battery will help. You will become accustomed to resetting the memory on the side windows every so often. It's just the way these early ones are. I'm assuming they fixed that in later models.
