Just acquired a 1999 xk8 convertible the radio works perfect on am and antenna works fine. When trying to switch from am. To fm get a no fm message, tried using scan, then tried holding eject and;ampm button and got;set up. But no fm. Any ideas? Dave in Tampa FL.

 

There are 2 models of stereos an the XK8 and XJ8 through the years and both models though all the years of the XK8 production each is shared in the premium and standard option , just using different connections in the back of the shared head unit .

There are miniature switches inside the front plastic cover you can replace as the switches are commonly available on Ebay/Amazon .

 

You are probably in the Alternate Memory (or A-MEM) area of the FM band.
There are many things explained in the owners manual (that nobody reads!!!)

To Bob's point, press 0 (zero) to toggle Amen on off
