I can't believe how much they complicated this convertible system with computers, hydraulics and sensors just so the user wouldn't have to manually latch the roof when raised, not worth all the potential headaches, in my opinion anyways.

I've had American convertibles and never had any problems whatsoever, even with the older ones.

Did you do a hard reset when the roof was open and the latch parked?

- pushed
button-roof down, pump runs and latch opens, roof doesn't rise, then get message "latch not closed" even though roof is down

So either way roof stays down and doesn't rise and system is still confused and dumb as heck!

- so I opened the valve
to release pressure then raised top manually
-
then closed the valve
- pushed button-roof up
to try to bring it to the latch and raise the windows, still nothing and back windows now don't rise
so with top still manually raised,
- Pushed button-roof down, after waiting long enough top lowers towards latch, and I think I latched it manually with the hex key, don't quite recall

So I turned off ignition, this time I firstly disconnected neg terminal
- opened valve
- unlatched
- manually retracted top again, oddly I didn't have to unlock the rams again
- closed valve
- closed latch

Though somewhat confused at this point, I'm now waiting and desperately hoping it might work this time after having firstly disconnected the neg terminal, may be that's what the issue is?

Thank you
Sid

The latch was not locked/parked prior to the neg terminal being disconnected, but i did park the latch prior to reconnecting the neg terminal.

Thanks

When you pushed the button to close the roof did the latch come open? Did the pump continue to run after the latch came open?

The windows will not close until the rams are fully extended to the locked position.

When i pushed the button to close the roof, nothing happened at all, no pump noise or anything, like if I had not pushed the button

The rams didn't lock when I close the top and latch it manually.

When the roof was open and the latch was parked and you did a hard reset did the pump run and did the latch open and did the pump run with no movement of the roof?

my initial problem was that
with roof up - the button-down didn't lower the roof

but Button-up worked to close the roof and latch it, then it raised the windows.

now the button-up doesn't work at all

I understand that! So you are saying that you have nothing now. No movement to open the latch and close the roof?

I only got pump response and latch open on Button-roof down while roof was still down

Have you done anything with the pump or the electrical to the pump?

Yes, exactly!

but if I raise the roof manually and then push button-roof down and insist/wait long enough the roof goes towards the latch, so when pushing button-roof down and i do it long enough it will do the opposite of roof down and actually push towards the latch

Ok I am done for the night. My brain is full!!

This system is controlled by 2 computers, 5 switches, 2 control valves, 2 relays and one pump that is bidirectional and ALL must be in sequence to make it work. This system is easily confused by pushing the open/close button over and over again and by opening the roof when it thinks it is closed and that is the reason for the hard reset when it is open and the latch is parked.

I will think about this in the morning!
