Default 1999 xk8 leather seat cover replacement

Hey gang,

My seats are looking too old to repair, and I see a company on Ebay who sells new covers for $600.

Any alternatives that anyone knows of?

Thanks in advance!

I've tried a couple upholstery places locally, and the economic alternatives are impossible. If a place takes the pattern and mass produces them, the ebay seller may be your best bet. They are not complex by any means.

I was going to replace a couple sections on the bolster areas, and it was going to be nearly $300 and he couldn't guarantee a perfect match to my 'dove' color. Custom seems to be the only way to go here. How about a link of your ebay source...i'd like to see the leather quality.

These are not cheap but they are as close to original as i think you can get.
I put them in my 99 xk8 coupe and they are great.

They will even send you cuts to get the right color

I spent 1500.00 on the front leathers. Plus a couple hundered to get them installed.

The only caution I can give with these covers is they are made to match original and there fore if you foam has any compression fatigue they will fit loose. I had to have foam added to mine to fill them out. Side effect with that is the seat warmers take a little longer to warm your tush.

I also have the same issue and wondering how hard it is to replace the leather? I see many sites that have the seat from about $300 to $500 for the seat covers but is this something with normal mechanical skills can do?
