Hey guys,

I have a question about Error Honk from the fob or key on lock up or unlock

every now and then the fob works and keyless entry/exit works 100%
then ...its back to fob causes Error honk ...so I lock up with the key
car locks but error honks at me.

So i WD40'd the key and gave it a good key screwing in the door lock and the ignition barrel

No lil door fell in the barrel as advised
the lil keyhole in the door has a portcullis that closes

Any advise on the error no honk?

70k No check engine lights - runs like 4ltrs of fun

 

You will get the error honk if a door is ajar or the trunk is open. It is possible that there is an intermittent switch in one of the door or trunk latch assemblies.

Also check and make sure there is no water or moisture on the metal floor of the trunk, under the fusebox, which could mean the security module is damp, since it is located below the fusebox.

Its so funny ...when it works i stand and try and figure out what I did different to make it work)

Nope Boots not open bonnets down, doors are all shut
I guess its a job for a jag sparky
