So I purchased my 2000 XKR convertible with 37K on it 2 months ago. I bought it out of an estate, and it had been sitting for a few years until I bought it and drove 2.5HRS home. I read all kinds of checks for engines with bad cylinders..My engine was made in 6/00 so it has the NIKASIL coating. When I looked at the car for the first time, I saw no excessive blow by in the intake tube, no smoke on start up, it ran smooth and didn't miss a beat. I decided to change all the 19 year old coolant hoses (That's a project I'm discovering), and went after the heater hoses today in the valley. When I took off the intake elbow, it had some engine oil in it. The supercharger has oil in it..I'm now panic stricken on what to do..( Not really). I'm a corporate aircraft tech for a living so I have reasonable mechanical aptitude, my aircraft tech brain tells me the engine may be shot...or? Im pondered doing a cylinder leakage test, but what is the acceptable leak rate and the engine will obviously be cold as I cannot start it. Ive attached some photos and hope somebody has a suggestion.
Some oil in the intake I think is pretty normal. Check your oil, see if it looks good. Figure if there is excessive oil consumption. Check your PCV hoses (there are 2). Do a compression test. If that all checks out, then I would say an oil-catch can is next best thing to do.
It's likely the part load breather is blocked, common problem and results in oil being sucked into the intake. It's the accordion hose on top of the left cam cover front. It's a little tricky to take apart, do a search for a diy under part load breather. Clean the fitting with a 3/32 drill bit.
You probably have plastic chain tensioers so put that on the list to change to metal body ones.

If you are getting "white" smoke out the Tailpipes at start-up, it could be the Filters in the tops of the Cam Covers...That will cause a lot of Oil to get in the Waste-Gate....as in the photo above.....You have to remove the Cam Covers and replace these Filters but that will stop the smoking and Oil collection in the intake.....
