Exclamation 2002 Jaguar XK8 (replaing plastic tensioners etc) Adding a transmission fluid cooler

I wanted to know some more about replacing the plastic tensioners. Also, I am thinking of adding a transmission fluid cooler and inline magnitic transmission fluid filter to catch the tiny metal particles that could damage the transmission. Can anyone give me some advice please.

Mods, could we help this gentleman get his question over to the XK8 forum where he can get a quick and helpful answer?

BTW, welcome Wilson1971! Post up an introduction in the new members section please.

Your 02 should not have plastic tensioners, but it's a good idea to look. You already have a transmission cooler built on the radiator and there are magnets in the pan. But change the filter and fluid.

My '02 XK8 had plastic tensioners. Check the manufacture date on the driver door jam label. If after August '01 you most likely have the metal version.

Any suggestions where I should mount an external after market transmission cooler on my 1998 XK8 other than in front of the a/c condensor?
