Hey Lads,

The driver side power seat module on my car has issues. The plastic casing was cracked and falling apart and the fore-aft control is intermittent.

I was looking on ebay and a XK8 module is 150+ dollars.
If I look at the XJ8 version they come in at only about 50.00. They physically look the same but wondering what has to be considered with swapping these out?

Seems as though the K in the name of our cars adds substantially to the cost of our parts.

A cracked case is a common occurrence. Perhaps that is why Jaguar sells the case alone for just a few bucks.

The circuit board is also another common problem in that the case rubs the outside edge of the board breaking one or more printed lines. We have a solution for that also.

Well, as it turns out, the module itself is fine.
I went through and resoldered all of the plug contacts and now all functions are normal.

Curious about what Jaguar charges for these replacement plastic boxes though? Both left and right are cracked and their mounting tabs are broken completely out.
