2003 XK8 Will not crank
1) Are the lights on in the transmission console?
2) Will the car start in neutral?
If yes to both, it is possible that the cable that transmission selector lever is out of adjustment. Can't swear this applies to 2003 cars, but technical bulletin 307-10, from 1997, details the fix.
If the lights in the console are not on, your problem is likely more severe. If the car doesn't start in neutral, it is still possible, though less likely that the problem lies with the selector level adjustment.

Lights on but no start in any position
I'll try to properly adjust cable.
Could it possibly be a bad chip in the key. I only have one and the original is missing. I wonder if security keeps it from cranking or will it still crank with a bad key chip?
