Hi All......... Is it possible to find a remote key for a 2005 XK8 that does cost two arms and a leg??

I know it's available from one of our local dealers, but they won't even consider lowering the price. So far I've just been using the key.

Remote fobs are available every day on eBay for $20 to $50. Verify that the part number found on the back of the fob matches what is required for your car. If you do not have a fob at all you will have to have the dealer look up the correct part number for your VIN. There can be 2 or 3 different numbers for each model year.

Thanks.... Went the Ebay route and received two that wouldn't work for my Jag. I got hold of the right part number after that from the dealer, but found none available on Ebay. Maybe one of these days one will turn up.

 

That's weird. My car came with no fobs. I bought two on eBay and they worked fine. I just made sure that the vendor on eBay was selling them for my model year of car. It took a few attempts to get them programmed, but eventually I got it right. You have to get the timing of the steps just right.

Did they provide the programming instructions for you particular Jag?

I bought a New FOB on eBay from vendor "My Keyless" but I haven't seen them on there lately. NAYYY

On the back of your current remote FOB are three lines of code.

All three lines of code on a new FOB Must match the codes on your current FOB.
