I had a 97 Xk8 with many of the issues presented here. TB errors, ABS errors this that and the other, theck the truck for tire bump, fuses under the hood.......
The shop told me the TB could be causing the related codes, had 3 diff units put on the car, all same result.
I knew from reading here that the 97 ECM was a weak point in these cars, maybe the 98/99??? I had mine sent out to autoecu.com which I think I found mentioned on this very site. They bench tested my ECU, rebuilt it. I got it back, threw it in the car and it ran fine and the guy I sold the car too, I have talked to a few times, years ago has had no issues from the car. Cost like 300 bucks to have fixed with lifetime warranty.
Just one thing to think about when all the other things are looked at.
This autoecu.com can fix most anything in cars, I have used them for a few other components in other cars.

 

Thanks to all or should I say many thanks, the mystery of the limp home xk8 is solved, It seems that a RODENT had breakfast on the wiring and chewed up a wire. I should be on the road again minus a few gray hairs Rich
