at least one was bad, so replace both...easy to say....5 hours later includes a trip to best buys to bring my old speaker in and match it's size exactly with a new set of alpines...for about $100 calif money.

the job is laborious, as most things like this are, removal of rear cards, both pieces of the rear seat, belt holders, etc...lots of plastic and cardbord and fittings that are not going to work a second time, or fall into the body never to be seen again...

ok...in the end i have tunes...it's a lovely stereo now, no more crackle, i just had to replace the 6 1/2 inch speakers(don't quote me on the actualy size) the smaller speaker in the encloseure are fine, that makes a total of 8 speaker in the car?

it was worth it, i had to do many contortions to get into the small spaces and use a soldering gun to attach the very thin wires to the speakers...somehow it all worked out.

something to be said for do it yourself projects, like this car can be. i also had to look at youtube and net in general for tips and how this looks when completely installed properly, where the seats belts that are never used fit in relation to the door cards in the rear seat area.
