Default ABS...Trac...ASC...issues

Just brought my 2002 xk8 out for an early spring....
On starting...I get information that the Trac and ASC is not available,
and the ABS light is on....Is there a easy cure for this?...I remember something about dirty sensors. Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.

This is one of the most aggravating problems with our cars. Cleaning the wheel sensors is the first step, they can all be reached without removing the tires but it is easier with the tire off. Held on by a 10mm bolt, take out bolt disconnect plug, clean the sensors with dishwashing soap and a toothbrush, use some dielectric grease on the plug when reconnecting. Inspect wiring for and frays.

After cleaning start car and drive it the lights should reset within a mile.

If that does not work the ABS module can be repaired, issue with bad solder joints, search for additional info on this.

+1 with Stu, before you go getting into anything complicated give your battery a 24hr charge and then see what you've got.

Next thing to do then as Jandreu says is, go round each sensor and clean them. Pay particular attention to the reluctor rings to make sure they are not overly corroded.
