Default Adamesh S/C Hood Vents & Side Indicator Lenses

Would like to know if anyone has purchased Adamesh bonnet (hood) 2011 style vents for their XKR. If so did they fit OK and how did they look? I'm also thinking about changing the side indicator lenses to "smoke" with the chromium lamps. My XKR is Platinum Metalic and think this would be a good combo for the ride.

DEFINITELY change the side indicators. I installed clear lenses and it looks sooooo much better. The orange is way too distracting. I'm going to do the front turn signals at some point, too. I'm going to leave the red ones on the back though. I think the red looks good.

I was not happy with Adamesh's clear lenses.

They were self-adhesive, as opposed to the clip-on OEMs, but seemed to stick on ok, despite the fact that there's not much in there to hold on to. The front ones didn't look so bad, but rear ones looked odd, so I swapped them for red ones which looked a lot better. I wasn't too convinced by the shape of the Adamesh lenses, either: the OEM lenses kind of curve round to follow the body lines, but Adamesh's were straight and flat. I also felt the front ones looked too 'white' and more like reflective conspicuity tape than a translucent light lens.

So I sourced some XKZ clear lenses only from this UK eBay seller http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/8ru/?_trksid=p4340.l2559, which I glued onto the OEM base, having first pryed off the orange plastic lenses. It's not too obvious from the photo, but IMO they look a lot more OEM than Adamesh's white reflectors.

I have also put some Philips Silvervision bulbs in all 4 indicators to get rid of the egg yolk look of the orange bulbs.

I would use the clear side repeaters with amber lamps. Looks great on the platinum Silver. The smoke color is too dark for platinum, but would look great on a dark gray car.

Excellent info---Good to hear the advice on smoke lenses versus clear. I'm sure about replacing the repeater lenses with chromium lamps but have not made up my mind on the front amber running/reflector lenses. I will leave the rears as red.

Thanks,
