Default aftermarket chrome grill...

I have a 2002 XKR 100.I actually bought a chrome grill over a year ago (little over $300 - like the one in the pic at the top of these web pages) but have never installed it.

Question: has anyone ever installed one of these grills yourself? What kind of issues did you run into when installing it?

One of the reasons I have not installed it yet is that it will require removing the front nose of the body. I am a pretty mechanically saavy guy, and have worked on cars all my life, including bodywork. But, for soome reason, when it comes to doing anything to my baby, I am very hesitant because I don't want to screw anything up. I don't want to take the nose off and run into issues I am not aware of.

Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

You do not have to take the nose off. There is room to get down from the top and also the underside.

Care to elaborate a little more? Thanks for that info.

I have tried going at it from underneath, after removing the splash shield. But I wasn't able to get anything out - seems there just isn't enough room to "remove" anything. I did not, however, look at it from the top...seems like the hood would be an issue going at it from that direction.

Thanks again
