Air bag light on after fitting new battery
After reading many of the posts on air bags I realise that this air bag light staying on is just an electronic glitch. But I still can't figure out how to turn it off - any suggestions?
Is the air bag light flashing first before it goes steady or does it come on full and stay on?
If it is flashing first then you need to count the flashes to give you a code.
You could also try a hard reset and also make sure the battery is fully charged.

The earlier models are a lot simpler - things got very complicated with the SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) on the later 4.2 models.
A regular cause of the warning light on the early ones is the seat belt buckle. There's a sensor in the buckle which detects when the belt is inserted. These can get dirt in them or just fail.
