Air Con Compressor fault
Hi,
I have another issue, this time with the air-con compressor.
Basically after re-gassing, the air con still wont work, The error code says:-
"22 Compressor lock signal fault Low refrigerant charge, low compressor oil level, loose drive belt Harness / connector fault Adjust items as required"
Have checked most thinks, Belts, re-gassed, changed pressure switch
except compressor oil & Compressor lock signal fault.
I can get ice cold air by bypassing the relay and turning on the compressor, so everything works......but that's not really a viable long term solution.
Internet research says that the "Compressor lock signal" is a system where it compares the speed to the engine speed (with the intention of detecting a slipping belt, etc) and that this system was so troublesome that they only used it on 1996 models - all models 1997 onwards did not have this.
If true then I need a new compressor - difficult to find one only made 21 years ago for one year....................
Does anyone know a way of fooling the air con ecu into ignoring this fault?
Or am I really stuck with having to find a 1996 comp?
Thanks, Tony.
