Default Airbag issue after crash. Flashing code 14 fixed now 12.

Dear friends,

A while ago I had a crash with my XK8. The good news it that the car is fixed and drive like it was before.
I have some problems with Airbag system.
It ia a 99 XK8 with AJ27 engine. I have replaced driver airbag, passandeg airbag, 2 front crash sensors. Also 2 safty belts but there was no electronic conected to the belts.
I had airbag flashing code 14 so I decided to replace airbarg control module HJA9662AA.
Now I have flashing code 12.
Any idea how to fix it?

I didn't think Flash Codes were applicable before the SRS (Supplementary Restraint System) was introduced in 2003 .......

It's been a while since I had my 2001 XK8 so my memory could be wrong.

Well, it is flashing ;-)

The question is what means code 12 and how to fix it ;-)

As simple search yields to this: airbag-error-code-12-a-99201/

The solution (repair wiring under the seat) has been mentioned many times. Could be a recurring problem. Never worked on this myself...

Best of luck, keep us posted.

The electric portion is in the seat belt buckle. There is a plug from there that goes to the seat control module. There is a chance it has come loose. If your bags deployed it is possible that the seat belt automatic tensioner also deployed which would require replacing the buckle mechanism. The tensioner is spring loaded and electrically deployed. If it isn't in the retracted position that might be the problem.
