Default Antenna Mast & Motor

The whole thing needs replacing. 2003 w 110,000 miles.

So, SNG has a unit for approx $450 and I'm sure it's OEM.

Then eBay has a few for approx $55.

Anyone have experience with either?

I have the tiny antenna...total crap can only get one station real weak..nothing inside but a bent bit of brass..electronic my ***.
I would go for the $55 antenna They all have a drum with a cable to push the antenna up and down and a spring loaded ball clutch to take up overtravel obstruction etc.

You might check out Sam's old video:
. His was installed in a convertible, but the connections would be the same, just different routing.

Parts needed are really cheap so if you don't think it works well enough no great loss of cash. BTW, Sam was (is?) in North Carolina. Having lived there myself I can tell you the reception was never good anywhere but he was pleased with this fix.

I feel like the motors on these usually last pretty well so I might just get a used one and replace its mast if necessary. Also, if you don’t use it much, a shutoff switch will save some wear. Mine is semi-hidden in the carpet behind the driver’s seat at the back of the center console.
