I got a new plate a few weeks ago. My new one is "JAGGED". However, I'm kinda disappointed because everyone think's it's pronounced with one syllable, like "jag'd". I have to explain to them that it is pronounced jag-ed, like a jagged saw blade.

I have pondering the idea of getting a personal plate, as I just purchased a 03 XKR. Some of the ones I have seen or thought of are as follows:

IBPRWLN
ONPROWL
ALLYCAT
WILDCAT
STRACAT
BIGCAT
OUT4BLD
HEDFPRD
JNGLCAT
CALSPCA
LOSECAT

Or a variation of some of the "Cat" mixed with other short terms, as well if any are taken you could use Kat instead of Cat.

I will probably end up without a personal plate though.

It’s not often that you can celebrate two of your great passions with one simple tag. The fact that my wife got me this plate for my birthday makes if extra special. A perfect Trifecta, my XK8, The Chicago Bears and my wife of 33 years, not necessary in that order. It amazing how close the Jaguar blue matches the Bears blue and orange….Maybe I could dye my top orange. That would look Awesome!

Thanks - I understand how you did it, I'll look around.

Totally off topic, but one thing that sucks about CT is that they've effectively banned "Pull-a-part" type places (through insurance requirements). Either you're not even allowed in the yard, or you have to follow their guy, while he removes every part for you. I used to love spending afternoon's in the junk yard searching for 'gold'!!!

The fixer
Here's a pic and diagram for a license plate mount you can make out of aluminum strap. it's adjustable on height and angle of the plate. I had it on my XKR until I repainted it.
XK8+XJ8L is right you need more space it moves your bumper forward about 8"

Just don't park on the street in Seattle. The parking enforcers will nail ya. (Of course, when they slap the new toll on crossing the lake, we won't be going over there much anyway.)

My BRG 2006 XKR Coupe tag is GRN CAT. I had BRG XK8 on my previous BRG 2000 XK8 Convert. I have tried for years to get JAGWAH here in Florida but it is taken and even if given up there is a 3 year wait to keep people from selling them. Also I have seen GRY CAT and BLK CAT.

Just another example of government idiocy. What is the logic behind that ridiculous rule? There is none! But I bet I can explain the emotion-based decision-making process that led to it:

A government official heard that someone with a really cool plate was offered a lot of money to have it transferred to someone else. That government official thought "that's not fair!" (imagine "that's not fair" being said in a whiny, nasally, third-grade-kid-got-sent-to-the-corner kind of voice). "Poor people can't afford to buy that popular plate, so a rich person shouldn't have it either!"

The government official then implements a rule to make the distribution of license plates completely fair to anyone. If you get it first, it's yours, but if you don't you can't simply buy it from the person who has it. That makes it "fair" to everyone! Woohoo! But let's think about who loses out in this situation...

Let's say that one day Jim-Bob is sitting on the sofa on the front porch of his trailer. In a stroke of pure genius that defies his slightly below average IQ, he thinks of a really cool, funny license plate that he wants to get for his 1988 Trans Am. He goes down to the DMV to get it, and after paying the back-taxes that are due on his car, and getting the past-due safety inspection up to date, and buying liability insurance for long enough to be allowed to renew his registration, he gets himself this really awesome plate. On the way home he drives through Palm Beach and about 15 filthy rich people see his license plate. They all think "THAT'S AWESOME!" and they want the plate. They use their contacts at the DMV to learn who owns the plate, and they offer him money for it. A bidding war starts. A week later he finally gives the plate up to Rush Limbaugh, who pays him $500,000!!!

Some liberal legislator learns of this and says "That's not fair!" (in the whiny voice). He passes a law so that you have to wait three years before reusing a cool custom plate. That way there's a "level playing field" and even poor people in trailer parks have an equal chance of getting the cool plates. But the losers are the poor people in the trailer parks! They can no longer strike it rich by thinking of a cool custom plate that other people want to buy!

But at least it's "fair".

OK, fellas. Here's one that you don't want to see as your cat is driving away from you: "WAS HIS".

Be nice to your lady.
