Default Battery Issue ? Putting the top up

So over the past 6-8 weeks, I have noticed that when I use the key in the door to put up the convertible, on the last phase once the rook is locked when it starts to roll up the windows the windows don't rise all the way up.

In the past couple of weeks, I have noticed that the windows are rolling up progressively less.

Last night the systems stopped before latching the roof.

So, this seems to me like a battery issue. However, when I hop in the car and turn the ignition on (not starting the car) I can use the interior roof button, and the roof will close and complete its cycle entirely.

The battery has a date sticker of 12/08 ---- What do you guys think - battery time or just a glitching system ?

Thanks

Dave

Reset your windows and see if the problem recurs. (Run them all the way down, hold till it clicks, then all the way up, hold till it clicks).

Dave,

So, last time, from outside the car you held the key in the "close top" position and the latch failed to close. Did you notice if the pump kept running? You can probably hear this if you try, opening the trunk will help. (If you repeat this test, don't let the pump keep trying too long, say 10 sec. max, if it can't close the latch.)

If you've got a digital voltmeter, it's possible to get a pretty good indication of battery condition. There's a method given at www.scorekeeper.com/jaguar/jaguar02.htm
