Default Which is the best owners club for an XK8 owner in the UK.

I'm new to XK8 ownership and I'm wondering if it's worth joining an owners club and if so which one. Thanks in advance.

XKEC is the best as it is model specific for XKs only, go to XKEC Home, they have a very active forum and good meets..... Actually having there 10th anniversary at Warwick castle this year

Xkracer is right XKEC has the most active forum and you can just join the forum or be a full member I think the forum is about £20 and you can still attend events and they have regional groups.

Other subscription one is JEC (Jaguar Enthusiasts Club) this covers all types of jaguars so if you want to be involved in the broader jag community then worth a look. The forum however is not as good as XKEC in my opinion, however they do have experts you can email for advice and they do a good hire service for specialist tools if you are planning on doing your own maintenance. They also have a monthly magazine.

A good plus is you can often get discount from suppliers even Jaguar main dealers. I reckon this year I have recouped quite a bit of my membership fees with the discounts(had quite a few big jobs)

There is another free forum Jaguarforum.co.uk this covers all types of Jaguars and specialist car forums such as PistonHeads have jaguar sections.

To be fair this forum is very good with lots of friendly, knowledgable help available for all things Jaguar.

Default Thanks both.

I'll join XKEC for starters then.

I've never been in an owners club before, maybe I'm at 'that' age now.

I'll definitely be doing my own maintenance. All sorts of things have become apparent now I've had the car a couple of weeks, it seems the last owner didn't think as much of it as he made out and my job list is growing every day. So the JEC might be worth joining too, if just for any tools I might need.

But as far as forums go I think you're right about this one Paul, I've asked two questions today and both have been answered brilliantly.

Thanks again.

The XKEC have started there own tool collection... As Paul has said forum membership is £20 or you can pay £40 for full membership this gives you access to all the website facilities, club discounts, the now electronic/digital quarterly magazine and of course hire of the tools
