After an eternity of waiting on shipping, I finally received a new park brake microswitch to fix my problem where the Brake light does not come on when the Hand brake is in engaged.

I removed the driver’s seat, disconnected the old switch and connected the new one and actuated it by hand. The bulb still did not come on. It does however light up on the instrument cluster when the the key is in the 2nd Position and the cluster is doing its system check.

I have already in the adjusted the park brake at the rear brakes, as well as reduced the slack of the cable under the car. It engages well. But in the current situation, I am likely to drive off with it engaged for the first few seconds.

I don’t know what to check next. Fuses? Another new switch?

 

I am an idiot. I decided to have the switch touch ground and that worked.
