Brake switch?
Hello to all!
Ok. Problem of the day.
Whenever I set the cruise control button on the center console and set the speed, within seconds the light on the cruise button shuts off and I get an amber "engine fault" message. When I shut the car down and restart, there is no more message. I've tried this, as a test, 5 times in a row and ithas reacted the same way each time.
Have at it ladies and gentlemen

Have you checked JagRepair (Gus) brake switch failure diagnosis and replacement procedure?

Very likely your brake switch has worn out. Well, the micro switches inside the brake switch assembly, actually.
The switch can be tough to remove and install, it's a tight fit. Search the forum and you'll find several recommendations. I used bamboo skewers to guide the switch into place and the job was a snap.
The switch is spendy. A talented person could likely just replace the micro switches and save money. When you get it out you will see how easy they can be swapped.
