Smile brake switch

Hi guys, I have posted on this subject b4 & saw some great replies on how to replace this thing. Mine is a 2003 xk8 & RHD as I am in Aus. Problem is that those photos do not replicate my model. The access to mine is even worse it seems . wonder if anyone out there has had this experience. cheers Mike

Did mine a few months ago and the other forum posts are accurate in terms of layout. I ended up taking the whole bracket out by removing the nuts in the engine bay. I found taking the bracket out the easiest way by far but others have found leaving the bracket and changing the switch easier. It is well worth taking the 10 minutes to remove the driver's seat first. Frankly, I didn't find it as hard as some of the forum posts suggest so don't over-think it!

Smile brake switch

many tks Chris , I did in fact remove the seat etc to get a view of the problem but will follow your advice on removing the items & see how it goes. When I got access to the switch I gave it some lubrication but have not tried out the cruise control/rear brake light failure warning as yet. cheers Mike
