It just started showing up last week, I have never seen it before and I change functions often. Anybody know why it would just start working?

 

Do you mean the estimated range in miles on the available fuel left in the tank?

This is one of the Trip Computer functions selected by pressing the Message Centre button on the end of the LH stalk:



The available options are:
1. fuel usage
2. average speed
3. range

Standard display in the Message Centre is Odometer showing total mileage. First press of the stalk switches from Odometer to Trip Computer. Further presses cycle through the three options listed above and then back to Odometer.

Warning messages always take priority in the Message Centre over Odometer or Trip Computer.

I was taking a trip, had the 'A' trip miles showing and looked down again and the Range was showing. I had touched nothing, so I was a little shocked and am wondering what the gremlin in my car did now.

 

I'll bet you accidentally hit the button.
