Default Catalytic Converter Removal

Hey Ya'll, I have a XJ8, but my Local moderator suggested I ask Yu folks, cause He said that more folks with the 2 dr coupe remove cat cons than the 4 door.

My post in XJ / XJR section

I have a 98 VP, and I removed cats, redid exhaust, added performance muffler, and 3.5x18 resonator tips.

Any advice on defeating the O2 sensor issue -- it runs and sound GREAT, but it is super rich, and as my mechanic friend says, "she dumps fuel like a boat, but what a sound" ...

Thanx in Advance

Lance

Do an online search for o2 sensor simulator and you may find your answer. IMHO you would be better served with free flowing cats. No CEL or running too rich and probably can't measure the difference in HP

I have a set of Nameless Performance Cats on my car, and I also put a Free Flow Cat on a BMW 635 once. In both cases, if you angle your view through the cats properly, the elements almost disappear. It's amazing how thin they are these days. Flow restriction really is minimal. I'd go with Dale: just bolt on some Free Flows and be done with it.
