CD skipping
#2
Could be several things. Here are the easy (no cost) ones to try first:
Take out magazine and reseat it (required for remaining steps)
Take CDs out of magazine and reseat individually.
Take out CDs and clean them, It's amazing how dusty it gets in the trunk.
Do all of the above since you have it out and empty anyway.
Lastly, check the mounting. Is it installed correctly and not moving around?
I doubt it is the unit itself, This rarely seems to be the problem with skipping. Worst case, turn it off and listen to that great V8 sound.

There was a thread on the forum a couple of years ago, it dealt with taking the player apart, cleaning it and then oiling the spindle and worm gear. I did it and it cured my problem, sorry dont have the link, someone else may be able to oblige. These are my pics from the refurb, I also cleaned the lens with correct cleaning fluid. Hope this helps.
