Default Codes driving me nuts

Pulled off valve covers and replaced seals and gaskets. Started car up and getting multiple fault codes. 1122, 1222, 332, stability control, gearbox fault, failsafe engine mode, and restricted performance. Car start and runs but rough. Have done a couple hard resets to no avail

Coils reinstalled out of sequence? coupled with a battery at least 4 years old? or more.

Dale, the battery may be weak and causing a lot of the codes. Charge it overnight and take it to a parts store and have them load test it.

Unfortunately, that's not good news. Have you tried erasing the codes and see if they come back? I'll look up the codes later, don't have time right now.

P0332 KS (knock sensor) sense circuit out of range (low voltage) B bank

P1122 Pedal position sense circuit #1 low voltage
P1222 Pedal position sense circuit #2 low voltage (see below)

There is a link between all three in that the connections are all routed through harness connector PI1. I think that is one of the connectors on top of the transmission housing below the TB. It goes to the engine: is it possible you've disturbed it?

From Gus' site, AJ27 Engine management DTCs:

HTH,
Mike

Yes, that could be it. Just quit for the day but will have look-see tomorrow. I was also working around TB. Just as a note--I notice codes come back before I even start engine

I guessed you might be. You definitely will be when you do the valley hoses

Note that the conditions (column 3) state 'ignition on > 5 seconds', so no need for the motor to be running for P1122/1222. Column 7 (actions) shows what the management will do in response to the code, so an explanation of some of the messages you're getting.

Good luck!

Mike

Trace the left bank knock sensor cable and make sure it's connected. I think the connector is on the side of the thermostat tower. Of course, the sensor may be defective.

Finally cleared all codes. All were bad or dirty connectors. Only thing left is soon as I turn ignition on restricted performance comes up

Thumbs up

Now, all codes are gone including restricted performance. Love having this car to tinker with. On to bigger and better things like coolant leak
