Cold air and new exaust
I am in the middle of a namelesss performance high flow converter change over (down pipes) for my 2004 xkr.Jason was helpful and the old converters are offf and waiting for the new ones.I also bought the Mina Gallery cold air intake, I have yet to figure how there cold air box should fit ,I have turned it several ways ,it looks like it was made for an entirely different car ,there directions are terrible and to say the least I am un happy with the system, any one that has fitted one of these to a 2004 xkr and knows how to do it or has pictures of the install would be appreaciated,I still like the idea of it but there system is pretty much junk.any help with this would be great. If its anything like the one in there pictures on the website, dont use it unless you want to undo everything Nameless have done. That is not a cold air intake, only if it is boxed and just not the useless heat shield, there is simply too much heat under an XKR hood to have an exposed air filter, it will suck in the hot air from the engine bay and reduce your power.
Those type of filters are only good for one thing.... noise... they do sound good
To do anything the only thing that works IMO is a CDA box piped to the front of the car, this will also require some of the inner panel removed, of course you can use a cone filter if you reposition it completely, so it is not in the engine bay.

Hello, I purchased the cold air intake kit from same source about a year ago. We tried to fit but gave up.We couldn't seat the intake low enough without the bonnet coming into contact with it. Also the heat shield would not fit properly despite surgery.
In hindsight and as someone has said maybe there is too much hot air (not cold air) floating around for it to be effective. If others out there have fitted one of these units with success please let me know.
