Default convertible top latch

I just finished replacing all the hydraulic hoses for the top because of the two near the latch leaking when I bought the car (2004 XKR) about a month ago. What a job! The top works fine except the latch pops back up when the top is down and I can't even push it all the way down anymore. I topped off the reservoir, so that's not it. I saw something on the forum about broken wiring, but don'y see anything obvious and wondered if the problem could be something else. Any ideas?

Check the petcock closed first if that does not fix it you may need to operate the roof a few times to get the air out of the system. It is a self purging system so keep an eye on your fluid level.

It must have still had air in it. Seems to be OK now.

Thanks for the help Gus. I see you are from Berlin, Md. That is where I got my first speeding ticket 48 years ago on the way to Ocean City in a Triumph Spitfire!
