If I recall correctly, on the X100 the cooling air deflector below the alternator needs to be removed. However, that is a single 10mm bolt. Make sure that it is refitted the right way up after the coolant change is completed and don't simply re-fit it the way it was when you removed it as it is not unusual for the deflector to have been previously fitted upside down.

I’m sure you are right.

My alternator air deflector was removed a few years ago by a huge black alligator carcass (truck tire re-cap tread) sitting just over the crest of a hill. Driving at night at highway speeds I has no chance to try to avoid hitting it. Which actually was a god-send.

Hitting it square on just tore off the air deflector and the plastic engine under tray. If I would have had time to swerve I likely would have hit it with a tire and then lost control of the car.

I do still have the alternator cooling snorkel part. So some degree of cooling air is getting the job done. Years and tens of thousands of miles later the alternator is still working.

Have been looking for the deflector for long time but no luck. Anyone have a spare ?

Not sure how much good that alternator air duct actually does. You can probably fabricate something fairly close out of a plastic gallon milk jug....

On XKR you also have a drain plug at the intercooler, at the far left if I remember correctly. It is a flat like a wing nut, no tools required.
I changed my coolant last year, and flushed it several times to get rid of all the old coolant, because I did not manage to get the block drain plug out.
The radiator and intercooler drain plugs are easy, that is just a plastic in plastic. Both have o-rings on them,
I could not find the orange coolant in any local shops here in Norway, so I replaced it with red G30 (also known as VW G12). That is an SI-OAT "lifetime" coolant.
