Coolant overflowing with lime?

Coolant overflowing with lime?
Hello, following a walk in I had a micro leak at the level of the expansion tank hose I opened the tank cap and it overflowed a lot and this morning my tank was empty I specify with the engine hot so in normal pressure that it overflows since the maximum level is just below the cap with the expansion of the liquid?

Yeah I am a little confused too. I am going to try to answer what little I could grasp.
The cooling system in basically every modern car is pressurized. If you open the system when hot, the pressure differential will cause the coolant to overflow. Doing this, 9/10 times you can burn yourself. Never open a cooling system when hot. It is possible that when you opened the system you lost enough coolant for it to be low. If so, just add more. If it was already low on cold before you opened the system when it was hot, then it is time to look for leaks and replace whatever is leaking. I suggest renting a pressure tester kit from a local auto parts store to help you find the leak.

You need to wait (perhaps 15 minutes -2 hr, depending on conditions) until the system is cooler/depressurized to open the cap. Note, if you already have a leak, this will likely be on the shorter side.
If you do not wait, there will be a geyser of fluid from around the cap.
You can shorten the process by putting something like a rag over the cap, opening the cap anyway and trying to avoid the resulting spewing fluid. Generally, do not do this because:
1. It makes your car smell like burning coolant for a while
2. You're likely going to get burned as Giandaniel noted.
3. It's not generally necessary.
If you do not wait, there will be a geyser of fluid from around the cap.
