I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get the XK8 repainted. Same color, only 2-3 door dings, no rust, no body work. Couple of areas on trunk and hood that had clear coat fail and were repainted previously but the imperfections are still visible. Doesn't need to be show car quality, but should be as good as what came out of the factory.

Any idea what I should expect to pay?

 

I manage a body shop in the Boise market. I would guess your market up north is in the $ 50.00 to $ 55.00 per hour range. I would expect a good quality repaint in your market with removing needed parts and prep etc. will run you between $6K and $8K in same color with no jamb work and minimal body work needed.

Depending on who you have do the work could be even higher but I would expect you will be in that range from a reputable company. Biggest issue is getting a shop to agree to do a complete repaint as most will not since they are tied up with insurance work.

I owned a collision repair center a few years back and the guy that bought it from me still is there. He gets about $6000.00 to $7000.00 with out any major body work. He'll DA the body down, block, prime, seal, paint, clear coat, and buff. real close to what LuvmyXJS is saying. five years ago he charged around five grand.
