dead pedal shift ...
At 5' 9'' the stock pedal height just wasn't working. I read a post where someone used vacuum cleaner extensions to raise his pedal, so I thought I would try it. I unbolted the stock assembly and placed a 2" roll of duct tape, alternating with a 3" roll of painters tape, underneath to try out different heights. For me, 2 1/2" worked the best. Places it about even with the accelerator pedal.
I had some old shop vac extensions and I cut off the top portion of each (they are very slightly tapered). I trimmed the gussets on the sides of the bolt wells just a tiny bit with an exacto knife for a snug push fit.
I got two replacement bolts (M6 by 60mm long) at the local hardware store. Also painted the risers satin black. The adjusted dead pedal now works perfectly.

Yep, that is the same thing I did to raise the level of the deadpedal. I have no idea why they made the OEM unit so far away from the driver's feet. It is worthless as its designed. They must have used an NBA basketball player when they laid out the original deadpedal.
I'm 5'5" so this is something I must got off my duff and get done. Right now, the pedal is useless to me.
And a neat result. Even though it's out of sight, I always like to see an owner modification that looks like an OE standard.
