Defective MAF Sensors
Had an issue with my fuel trims. Turned out the new Bremi MAF Sensor was defective and there seems to be a bad batch of them according to the supplier. Had to purchase a Denso from the Jaguar Dealer. The Densor MAF Sensor for a 2004 Jaguar XKR is not even listed on their website, but they make one and it’s Dealer only. Installed the Denso and the fuel trims are back to normal.
Yep, you have to stick with the Denso brand. I wish the XKR Denso MAF sensors were as affordable as the XK8 Denso MAF sensors are so you XKR owners would not have to shell out so much cash for a new one....
Thanks for your response. You have to wonder if there is any difference between an xk8 and an xkr Denso MAF sensor. Even if there is a difference, is the $ difference due to ”because they can?” It cost them just as much to make either one.
I understand that they are different, and an xk8 will not work with a xkr MAF. Inside there is a circuit board, and the flow rate for each car is calibrated, so even though they appear to be in the same jacket, they are not interchangeable.
Don't buy other brands, or cheap ones, as you'll be wasting your money.
