I was brought up to respect my elders, so I've never had a deferential problem.
On the other hand, according to Coventry West, a Jaguar differential should be trouble free for 100,000-125,000 miles. As always, your mileage could vary.

mine is within 400 miles of the 125,000 milestone without any hint of trouble or noise. Guess it could use fresh lube.
