Default Door windows are erratic

Has anyone been able to stop unexpected movement on the door rearview mirrors? Seems my mirror adjusting joy stick may be gummed up or mirror motors need servicing. Anyone have some experience here?
Thanks. Its always something...

Moving by themselves or not responding precisely to the joystick?

Thanks Graham. The movement is slow, jerky and sometimes non existent in response to
joy stick input. Could it be motors or stick? I've searched online for a switch pack to no avail.

What it could be is . . . any or all of above. Suggest you review the many threads on each. Removing the door card will give you access to switchpack and most wiring & connectors. Access into mirror drive motors is also documented for cleaning and lube. Suggest you start with the former.

Cheers,

Ken

As Ken says, it could be motors or switch pack.

Reports on the forum suggest motors die rather than become erratic but that's only indicative of a faulty switch pack perhaps being more likely.

Some members have successfully dismantled and repaired the switch pack but I'm not one of them. When I tried it on my 2001 XK8, tiny springs and copper contact blades flew all over the place but fortunately I was able to source a replacement.
