Could someone help me with a doubt I have related to XK and XK8 models ?

Are there any Jaguar XK or XK8 Supercharged ?

I'm not talking about XK-R and XK8-R, these I know that are Supercharged

I was told that there are also some XK and XK8 with Supercharged engines, is this true ?

The naming convention by Jaguar:

1. for the 1996-2006 Models, XK8 is N/A (Normally Aspirated) and XKR is S/C (SuperCharged).

2. for the following 2006 onwards Model, XK is N/A and XKR is S/C.

I've heard of a few retrofit S/C fitted to the early model XK8 but this costs more than a PX for the real thing!

You will find several XK8 and XK around with XKR badges and bonnet louvres fitted.

Hi, my car is a 2001 XKR supercharged.

You can always tell a supercharged Jaguar by the louvers or vents on the hood.
Unless someone added louvers or vents on the hood later because they liked the look and did not have a supercharged car. Although I doubt many did that.

My XKR does not have Brembro brakes and a XKR-R will always have Brembro brakes. This info is to the my best knowledge, if incorrect I'm sure we'll know so enough!

The only real difference apart from badging are the bonnet louvres from the outside, apart from that they are the same

It is possible to add certain parts as has been mentioned to make a car look like a R, however I would never put a Supercharged badge on an 8, that would be just wrong!

This XK has all the R looks but is an 8
