Default Dress up the steering wheel

Does anyone have a good idea for dressing up a well worn steering wheel? My XK8 has 112,000 miles so you can guess how the leather on the steering wheel looks. A new wheel is very expensive. I don't want to try changing it because of the airbag issue. My wife likes the look of the wood so that detracts from a steering wheel cover. Maybe there is a cover that would only cover the leather. Possibly there is a paint that is actually rugged. I'm installing all new seats. That will make the steering wheel stand out like a sore thumb. Someone must have an idea!

If you choose to go the leather dye route, I have been pleased with this product:

Good color match, fast dry, and durable.

I have also used the Dynamix dye, and it was a perfect match to my oatmeal leather.

hlgeorge is spot on!

Leatherique is one (if not THE) of the best leather restorer/cleaner that i have tried on the connoly leather of my jag though it was not worn out yet so i just used their pristine clean & rejuvenator.

i also tried suggesting this to my friend who got himself a used '07 merc S-Class whose driver seat had cracked... it was restored like bnew with their dye.

check out the before&after photos from their website (see below the page & click the A Morgan upholstery...amazing how they did it)

& also try to get to read reviews/feedbacks from other forums...

hope this helps. good luck.
