Default Drivers side seat control busted

My drivers side seat failed to function this morning, I checked the 2 20 amp fuses in the drivers side fascia fuse box (owners manual didn't really describe the location well). Does anybody know what side of the box and how many down the actual location of the said fuse may be? Is the fuse the likely culprit or does this problem tend to be caused by failure of another part?

Thanks all!

The seat control modules (underneath the seat) are known to fail and cause this problem. They can be removed, opened, and re-soldered. Search using "seat control module repair" as your key phrase, and you should find multiple threads regarding the various repair options....

But first you may want to remove the seat (four bolts), detach and clean the two electrical clips with contact cleaner, reattach the clips, then reinstall the seat. This has been known to resolve the problem as well. I would try this first (after checking the condition of the appropriate fuses)....

It should be fuse #1, on the upper right of the fusebox (there are embossed numbers if you view in a bright light). Occcasionally a wire under the seat gets pinched and blows the fuse.

Are all seat functions out or just some?

White,

I hope that's all it is. Just to clarify, we are talking about the fuse box between the dash and door on the drivers side? I love my XK, but I gotta tell you. working on the 67 Galaxie is far simpler!

I'd much prefer sitting in the drivers seat than working on it! To make matters worse, it broke after my wife drove it so the seat is all the way forward and I can't even get in the thing

Pulled seat, found disconnected wires to control box, piece of cake, phew!!! Next project is replacing the center muffler with an X pipe (the one suggested as a bolt up replacement in another thread from an ebay seller, was no where close to being an exact fit), assuming that I can find one, if it's still too quiet, I'm going to pull the 2 rear mufflers and add glass packs. Thanks for all your help though, turned out to be an easy fix.
