Default ECM Replacement

Hi All,
I think i need to either rebuild or replace my ECM as I get various fault indications when there is no fault. I have checked battery at 12.4 volts and 14.4 volts running and gone through the +ve rail and -ve ground connections.

My car is a 97 xk8 with vin ending AR016760. I have no idea if it has had the ecm reflash done.

The current ecm is LJA1410CA. Do i have to change it for one with the same referance or is there a superceded one I could fit otherwise its down the rebuild route.

I chose to have mine rebuilt. Considering the age of the modules, you could easily end up with another problem, and here at least, there is a warranty on rebuilds.
Even if you buy an exact match, it may be necessary to have a reflash since not all cars have the same options. Used ECU's for a 97 are rare over here and cost the same as a rebuild, but maybe the situation is better on your side.

Thanks, They are rare here as well, one advertised as new is £325 plus shipping, didnt know if later one would work. think I will be sending it to BBA Reman next week for a test and rebuild if possible.
