ECU programing question - x100 - LJA1410AK
Hello good Jaguar folks.
As the title implies I have a question regarding the programing of an E.C.U. or E.C.M. to a 1996/97 Jaguar XK8.
What I have is an E.C.U./M from a 97 convertible and I'm wondering if this can be programed to run a hardtop as well. The E.C.U./M model number is LJA1410AK with 004 at the end...not sure what difference those last 3 digits make though.
For what it's worth I haven't got the keys or transponder etc so it will need programing to the car.
Any help here is much appreciated.
Kind Regards

Fortunately there is one guy in the UK who can tell you . He is near me in Stratford upon Avon . Give him a bell he is very pleasant and has all the old gear.( He also knows why cars start and shut down in 2 seconds )

Hi,
OK. The 3-digit suffix is the firmware revision. As far as the module itself is concerned, it would be a direct swop for the one in your car.
However, it may need to be configured (I'm not certain of this so wouldn't want for you to end up immobilised). Unless you have access to the Jaguar diagnostic tools, I'd suggest just keeping it as a spare:- but do replace all the caps even if they look OK.
I've attached Jaguar TSB 418-03 on module compatibility.
