EGR byVin

Hi there.

I have a 1997 XK8 that was run hot to point where engine quit on previous owner. Looking to replace motor based on last 6 of vin when did EGR system discontinue. Mine is EGR equipped. There is a low mileage motor available that the owner says is with EGR but I am not sure based on VIn. TIA for any info.

Hi,
According to a summary of changes document I found for the 98 MY, "The EGR system was deleted on NAS XK8 models beginning with VIN 011462"

98MY started at VIN 018108

Look for TSB 303-07.
This document describes the ECM part number required for the deletion.
