Default Electrical Driven Convertible Latch

I'm one of the many that experienced the green shower, when my hydraulic hoses that drive my convertible latch failed. Sure, I could tear the interior apart and replace the hoses for about $200, but perhaps there is another way, or maybe not.

Has anyone solved the hydraulic line break by replacing the lines with a small electric motor capable of activating the latch open/closed?

I would be very interested in such a solution, and avoid the poor workmanship associated with my skill in removing and replacing the interior panels.

Very respectfully, Bob G in Florida

This has been talked about many times with no results.
