Default EML Ligght - Fault Code P0430

Hi,

I have a 2002 XKR. The EML is on and I have attached an OBD scanner and the fault code has come up as p0430. I think it's some kind of oxygen sensor. I have reset the EML light and every so often it comes back on.

Can anyone please advise?

Thanks.

I believe that means the catalytic convertor on bank 2 is not performing up to spec, or the oxygen sensor is not working properly - the one that monitors bank 2 after the cat. Someone else will chime in. I'm not sure what to do about this except replace the cat. I would think you would get an O2 sensor code if that was bad, but maybe not. That would definitely be less trouble.

Code P0430 i for the upstream O2 sensor on the Bank 2. That is the upper sensor on the exhaust on the left side of the engine. I woul first check the wiring and connector too insure they are not damaged. If they are not damaged I would recommend replacing the O2 sensor

Thanks. I'll look into it. Does anyone know where I can get a sensor at a reasonable price?

I believe that code could indicate either upstream or downstream failure, or even cat failure. If you start throwing parts at it without more information it could get expensive. I would start by checking fuel trims and O2 sensor voltage range.
